COOKIE POLICY

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) informs about the use of cookies on its websites.

Cookies are files that can be downloaded to your computer through websites. They are tools that play an essential role in the provision of numerous information society services. Among other things, they allow a website to store and retrieve information about the browsing habits of a user or their computer and, depending on the information obtained, they can be used to recognize the user and improve the service offered.

Types of cookies

Depending on the entity that manages the domain from which the cookies are sent and processes the data obtained, two types can be distinguished: first-party cookies and third-party cookies.

There is also a second classification according to the period of time that they remain stored in the client’s browser, which may be session cookies or persistent cookies.

Finally, there is another classification with five types of cookies according to the purpose for which the data obtained is processed: technical cookies, personalization cookies, analysis cookies, advertising cookies and behavioral advertising cookies.

Cookies used on the website

Twitter, Facebook and YouTube cookies are used to promote social networks, so that our visitors can follow us on these networks, and Twitter and YouTube content is embedded on the home page.

The following CSIC cookies are used: _pk_ses111.6fed, _pk_id.111.6fed, has_js and cookie-agreed. On the other hand, cookies are used to preserve the session status of a user. This is set to 30 minutes from when the user stops interacting with the application. JSESSIONID, GUEST_LANGUAGE_ID and COOKIE_SUPPORT.

Acceptance of the Cookies Policy

The State Agency Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) assumes that you accept the use of cookies. However, information about the Cookie Policy will be displayed at the top of any page on the portal so that you are aware of it.

With this information, the following actions can be carried out:

  • Accept cookies: if the user clicks the accept button, this notice will not be displayed again when accessing any page on the portal.
  • Review the cookie policy: The user can access this page where the use of cookies is detailed, as well as links to modify the browser settings.

How to modify the cookie settings
