General conditions of use of the portal www.csic.es

The Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) informs you that access to and use of the website www.csic.es and all subdomains and directories included therein (hereinafter jointly referred to as the Portal) are subject to the terms detailed in this Legal Notice, without prejudice to the fact that access to any of these services or content may require acceptance of additional General Conditions.

The CSIC reserves the right to make changes to the Portal without prior notice, in order to update, correct, modify, add or delete content or design. Since the information is not updated immediately, we suggest that you always check the validity and accuracy of the information, services and content presented. Likewise, the conditions and terms included in this Notice may vary, so we invite you to review these terms when you visit the Portal again.

The CSIC is not responsible for any damages that may be caused by the use of the tools and information contained in www.csic.es in relation to the adoption of decisions on the initiation, development or outcome of administrative procedures. Such decisions must be verified in the competent centres, organisations or departments. In any case, the information and content of this website may not be used in disputes with the Public Administration, and CSIC assumes no responsibility for any discrepancies that may exist between the printed documents of the competent Administration and the electronic publication on these pages.

Intellectual and industrial property rights

Both the design of the Portal and its source codes, as well as the logos, brands and other distinctive signs that appear on it, belong to the CSIC or collaborating entities and are protected by the corresponding intellectual and industrial property rights.

The information available on this website, unless otherwise expressly indicated, is susceptible to reuse; The total or partial reproduction, modification, distribution and communication thereof is authorized for commercial and non-commercial uses, subject to the following conditions:

  • The distortion of the content of the information is prohibited under any circumstances.
  • The user is obliged to cite the source of the documents to be reused.
  • The user is obliged to mention the date of the last update of the documents to be reused.

The CSIC expressly prohibits the creation of “framings” or the use by third parties of any other mechanisms that alter the design, original configuration or contents of your Portal.

Privacy

The collection and automated processing of personal data collected through this website is for the purpose of managing the service requested by the user as well as the follow-up of queries raised. The legal basis for the processing is the consent of the affected party and its need for the development of the public functions and missions of the CSIC, which is responsible for the processing. It is not possible to make a forecast of the deletion periods that will depend on the case and service requested.

The regulations require that the inventory of processing activities be made public by electronic means. In the Transparency section of this website you will find the Register of Processing Activities (RAT) of the CSIC. Through the links indicated in the aforementioned section you can access the RATs corresponding to the central organization of the CSIC and those corresponding to the Centers and Institutes of the CSIC that specify, for each treatment, the identity of the person responsible, the legal basis, purposes of the treatment, category of data, deletion provisions as well as the general description of the technical and organizational security measures.

In accordance with Organic Law 3/2018, of December 5, on the Protection of Personal Data and Guarantee of Digital Rights (LOPDGDD), the General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD) and concordant legislation, the CSIC is committed to complying with the obligation of secrecy with respect to personal data and the duty to treat them confidentially after carrying out the corresponding risk analyses, in particular, in accordance with the First Additional Provision of the LOPDGDD, the corresponding security measures of those provided for in the National Security Scheme necessary to prevent their alteration, loss, treatment or unauthorized access.

The user may exercise the rights of access, rectification, cancellation, opposition, limitation or portability at any time by writing to the General Secretariat of the CSIC at the address C/Serrano 117, 28006 MADRID (Spain) enclosing a photocopy of their ID or through the CSIC Electronic Registry located in its Electronic Office, for which they must have a recognized electronic certificate. The CSIC reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy to adapt it to new legislation, jurisprudence or interpretation by the Spanish Data Protection Agency. In this case, the CSIC will announce these changes, clearly indicating and with due notice the modifications made, and requesting, if deemed necessary, acceptance of them.

Applicable law and jurisdiction

The applicable law in the event of a dispute or conflict of interpretation of the terms that make up this Legal Notice, as well as any issue related to the services of this Portal, will be Spanish law.

For the resolution of any conflict that may arise on the occasion of the visit to the Portal or the use of the services that may be offered therein, the CSIC and the User agree to submit to the Judges and Courts of the User’s domicile, provided that it is located in Spanish territory.
